Few Canadian murders have become as famous as the case of Ardeth Wood. Last seen on August 6, 2003, the news of the promising PhD student’s disappearance spread like wildfire all over Ottawa. Every woman could see herself in Ardeth, and all civilians came together to find the killer.
Heated Argument Leads To Murder
27-year-old Ardeth was an only child, loved generously by her parents, Brenden Wood and Catherine Ashley. Ardeth spent most of her life in Ottawa and knew its many paths like the back of her hand. That is why no one suspected that when she went out cycling on August 6, 2003, that would be the last they saw of her.
She was pursuing PhD in philosophy at the University of Waterloo and was recognized by all peers as exceptionally bright. She had a bright future and was even co-editor of Eidos: The Canadian Graduate Journal of Philosophy.
