Grannies are thought of as loveable and caring people, and because of their old age, they are trusted the most. No one can expect a granny to turn out to be a serial killer, but there was one woman, Caroline Grills, who, at an old age, went on a killing spree and took pleasure in killing.

Caroline was born to George Michelson and Mary sometime between the 1880s and 1890s in Balmain, Sydney. Being a daughter of a labourer, she grew up watching financial struggle. She got married at a very early age to a man named Richard William Grills on 22nd April 1908, and they had five sons and one daughter together. Even after marriage, Caroline could not have the taste of financial stability, and it was always a bumpy ride of life for her.
