Born and raised in a Christian family, a boy wanted more than he was offered. Inspired by magic, or “magick,” as he liked to call it, Aleister Crowley became one of the most controversial people ever.

He claimed to communicate with demons and supernatural forces. He was involved in many ceremonial rituals and dangerous sexual rituals that make one think if he was actually what he claimed to be.

Crowley grew up in a wealthy family in Leamington Spa, England. His parents were devout Christians.

Edward Alexander Crowley was his birth name, which he later changed to Aleister Crowley, and after being introduced to “mysticism,” he liked being called “Great Beast 666”. He was spoiled with all the riches and pursued his higher education in English Literature at Trinity College, Cambridge.
